Lee H. Perlman, Managing Director
Lee H. Perlman is Founder and President of GNYHA Ventures, an innovative leader in healthcare management, and a national expert in healthcare procurement. GNYHA Ventures operates like an evergreen fund. Portfolio companies include GNYHA Services, Innovatix, Essensa, and Nexera. Total combined commerce through these companies is more than $10 billion, and total revenues exceed $135 million. Sold companies including THINC to WebMD, Stream57 (later acquired by InterCall), HCE, and a partial interest in Innovatix.

 

Ben Chodor, Chief Executive Officer

Ben Chodor is the CEO of Happtique, a mobile health application store and app management solution that helps healthcare providers, physicians, and patients easily integrate mHealth into treatment. He hosts mHealth Zone, a weekly radio show that offers the latest on mHealth apps and technology, and is a mentor for Blueprint Health, a startup accelerator based in NYC. Ben is a pioneer in online communications, having spent his 25-year career merging the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and technology fields. Prior to Happtique, he served as Senior Vice President of Global Streaming & Virtual Events at InterCall. He also founded Stream57 in 2004 and sold the company to InterCall in January 2010.

 

Corey Ackerman, President
Corey Ackerman is responsible for all Happtique operations. A nine-year veteran of GNYHA Ventures, most recently serving as Vice President and Associate General Counsel, he provided legal advice for all GNYHA portfolio companies, including its healthcare group purchasing companies, consulting business, streaming business, and foundation. He also provided support for all aspects of contracting and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA. Prior to joining GNYHA Ventures, he worked on corporate and securities matters as an associate at Mintz, Levin for start-up and telecommunications companies and Gordon Altman for clients including Icahn Associates and Morgan Stanley.

 

Barbara Green, PhD, Senior Vice President 
Barbara Green is responsible for developing Happtique contracts with app developers and publishers. A 25-year veteran of GNYHA, she has extensive healthcare contracting experience and, among other positions, served as CEO of Stream57, a streaming media company founded by GNYHA Ventures, which was sold and ultimately acquired by InterCall.

  

Drew Hickerson, Director, Business Development 

Drew Hickerson is Director of Business Development for Happtique. He also serves as Staff Counsel at GNYHA Ventures where he provides legal services to all of GNYHA’s healthcare businesses, including group purchasing contracting, litigation support, corporate filings, consulting, and outsourcing contracts. Prior to joining GNYHA Ventures, he held positions at Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg, and the litigation department of Morrison & Foerster.

Paul Nerger, Senior Technology Advisor

Paul Nerger is a 30-year computer industry veteran, working in software development, product management, architecture consulting, sales, and marketing. He has worked in and with many industries, including aerospace, defense, telecommunications, IT, and media. His previous positions have included general management and executive positions at a number of mobile startups, including AppCentral, dotMobi, and Argogroup. Prior to working with startups, he held executive positions at Informix Software, Silicon Graphics, Sequent Computer Systems, and Digital Equipment Corporation.


Lois Drapin, Senior Advisor

Lois Drapin is a veteran innovator and technology pioneer in the transformation of how healthcare is delivered, accessed, experienced, and perceived by consumer and healthcare professionals. She has worked in various full-time, consulting, and advisory capacities with WebMD, Wyeth, Johnson & Johnson, United Healthcare, Physicians Interactive, Skyscape, Healthline Networks, and emerging companies in social media, big data, medical education, market research, and DNA testing.

 

Carolyn Weaver, MA, MPA, Curation Team
Ms. Weaver is a medical librarian whose 35-year career has included positions at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Midwest Regional Medical Library Program, and Chicago Public Library.  She is a Past President of the American Society of Indexers and a Member of the Medical Library Association.  She currently has her own medical indexing consulting business, which serves numerous key healthcare clients.

 

Tim Glennon, RN, MSN, Curation Team
Mr. Glennon has more than 25 years of progressively responsible healthcare, clinical, and executive experience in nursing and hospital administration. He is a seasoned public speaker and educator, providing seminars on healthcare, leadership, and professional development in the U.S., Europe, and Mexico. Mr. Glennon has published articles on healthcare leadership topics, and he was the recipient of the Healthcare Purchasing News Materials Management Leadership Award in 1997. Mr. Glennon received his BSN and MSN degrees from Hunter College. He also holds an MBA from Baruch College.
