What is Happtique?

Happtique is the first mobile application store developed by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals. Happtique offers healthcare enterprises—like hospitals, continuing care facilities, and physician practices—the ability to create individually branded, secure substores that support employee and patient mobile technology use.

What is a “hApp?”

A hApp is a healthcare application available through the Happtique store.

At Happtique, we think the apps sold through our store deserve a special name, because we take extra steps to categorize them and ensure that they can be deployed safely. Happtique allows you to stop searching for healthcare apps and start finding them.

hApp Cataloging

In other stores, searches are limited to “medical” or “health,” generating hundreds of generalized pages of apps.

In Happtique, each hApp is assigned to at least one major audience (e.g., physician, nurse, pharmacist, etc.) and at least one broad topic (e.g., heart/cardiovascular). Each hApp is also “tagged” for more precise audiences (e.g., specific medical, nursing, dental specialties, etc.) and topics (specific cancers, diabetes, asthma, etc.). Keywords are extracted from the description provided by the app developers.

Happtique’s Expert Classification Team, which includes a medical librarian, a physician, and an RN, is responsible for the development and continuous refinement of the Happtique hApp cataloging system.
